10 grams of our European Oak chippings is enough for 4.5 litres of wine or beer. More can be used depending upon the amount of 'Oakiness' required.
We produce our Oak chippings from our offcuts, the process is carefully controlled and methods are inplace to ensure the purity of the chippings, we guarantee 100% Oak chips, with no contamination from other timbers.
We believe them to be the cheapest available anywhere, but let us know if not. Brand named Oak chippings cost around £3.50 for 10-

Oaking Wine
Basic Instructions
Oak Chippings for flavour.
Ensure all equipment is thoroughly sterilised prior to use.
Follow your recipe and the usual methods and just add the following steps.
Allow 1-
Add Oak chippings directly to the primary fermentation vessel. 15grams per 25 litres is a good average. Personal preference and experience will determine your preferred quantity.
Stir gently into the ‘must’ to distribute the chippings.
After primary fermentation is complete the wine should be syphoned off leaving the chippings and sediment behind.
Continue the usual process until wine is bottled.
Sit back and enjoy your ‘Oaked’ wines.
Ferment wine in the usual manner.
After primary fermentation is complete, add the Oak chippings, preferably in a small muslin bag.
Prior to bottling syphon or filter the chippings out of the wine to allow the wine to fully clear.
Enjoy your wine !
